Ace's Island Week One (by Shandi)

Day 1

Ace Frehley gathered up his most needed supplies and
shoved them into a carryon bag. He threw the strap over his
shoulder, picked up his guitar, and walked out onto the
deck of the boat. He thought this KISS cruise was a pretty
cool idea, but the fact they were stuck on these islands
almost made him wish he hadn't gotten persuaded to go. He
watched all the female fans going onto his island.

"Not as many as Gene and Paul," He chuckled, "But, I'm sure
I'll survive."

Ace followed the ramp down off the boat and onto the
island. The sand was white and the water was as blue as the
sky. He decided it might not be a bad thing, being stranded
on this gorgeous island for a little while. He followed
some of the attendants past some shrubs to where they had
set up a large tent for him to stay in. He sat in the door
way of the tent and lit a cigarette.

A young girl walked by and smiled at him. He smiled
back, wondering who she was. He had heard the group of
girls from the Girl_Talk list were going to be on the
cruise, and he planned on spending some time with them.

He thought to himself about how the group on his island
would work together and get organized.

"I'll figure it out tomorrow" he sighed. It was early but
he felt exhausted. He took one last drag from his cig and
flicked it, then went inside the tent and layed down to
sleep.

*Deeper into the jungle of the island*

"Them look like I," she whispered peering out of a high
tree towards the boat and people. The spider monkey looked
at her questionably.

"We stay always looking" she said. "Try keep away, if them
get close."

The girl leaned against the trunk of the tree. The monkey
sitting next to her jumped onto her shoulder. She wondered
what these things were doing on her island. She had never
seen anything like them before. She grabbed a long vine and
swung out of the tree into the darkness of the jungle.

Day 2

Ace jumped out of his sleep, startled by the sounds of
the jungle. He peeked out of his tent and saw the sun was
rising over the ocean. He stood up and stretched, then went
out onto the beach to raise his blue flag for the first
morning. Everything seemed fine around the island. He went
back into his tent and grabbed some shampoo and soap, then
ventured into the jungle to see if there was any fresh
water streams around. There were the sounds of monkeys,
birds, and insects that made there own music in the trees.
He hummed along as he walked.

She swung from tree to tree watching him. Trying to be as
inconspicuous as possible, she continued to follow him.

Ace heard a rustling in the trees and looked up. The
sun's light broke through the vines and leaves of the
trees.

She saw him stop to look and hid behind a branch, she
didn't want him to see her.

Ace shrugged the sound off and continued walking. She
smiled in relief that he hadn't noticed her. She grabbed
another vine and went to swing when it snapped and she went
falling down to the ground.

Ace heard a female scream and spun around to see the
girl laying on the ground. She lifted herself up slowly and
shook off the fall. He ran toward her and she struggled to
push herself away from him.

"Easy girl," he cooed as he tried getting close to her. "I
won't hurt you."

"No!" she yelled. She stayed on the ground, but pushed
herself away from him.

"Please...I won't hurt you" he said reaching his hand down
to help her up. She studied him cautiously, before putting
her hand in his. He helped her up and she brushed herself
off.

"You ok babe? That was some fall."

"Vine." she mumbled pointing up. "What you?"

"I am a man." Ace chuckled. "At least last time I checked I
was."

She reached up and ran her fingers through his hair sending
chills through his body. She was a beautiful girl, wearing
nothing but one torn cloth around her breasts and one over
her other private areas. She had a very thin muscular body
which her long brown hair flowed over.

"Man?" She smiled. "Me like man."

Ace smiled at her, looking into her big blue eyes. "That's
a good thing, honey." He laughed. "So, what are you doing
out here?"

"Home." She replied.

"You live on this island?" Ace asked shocked.

"Have for long time."

"All by yourself?"

"Me, islands, Coco." she said pointing towards the monkey
in the tree.

"Have you grown up here on this island?"

She shook her head. "No remember."

"Wow, a real jungle girl!" Ace cackled at himself.

She giggled. She was glad she met this 'man'.

"So whats your name? I'm Ace" he asked.

"Name? Ace?" she questioned.

"You know, a name. Your monkey's name is Coco, My name is
Ace, whats yours?"

The girl thought for a moment, then suddenly the monkey
came running over to them, interrupting the conversation.
It jumped onto the girl it squeaked it's little heart out.

"Oh! Me go now!" she said to Ace as she started to run away
from him.

"Wait!" he called to her, as she disappeared into the
trees. "I don't even know your name!.....Dammit!" he
cursed. He walked back over to his showering supplies and
picked them up. 'I hope I find her again' he said to
himself.

**********************************

Later that afternoon Ace had traveled to Peter's island to
tell him about the girl he had met.

"I swear, she was a real jungle girl!" Ace laughed.

"Your sure you didn't eat any weird berries or anything?"
Peter asked.

"I was just looking for some fresh water, and she fell
outta the tree! She's real man!"

Ace said getting lost in a stare. Peter snapped his fingers
in front of Ace's face,

"Snap out of it. Who knows if your ever gonna see her
again." Peter sighed. "And if you do, tell her when the
boat to my island leaves." Peter joked.

"Very funny," Ace sneered. "Well, I'm gonna go back and
look for her."

"Just be careful in the jungle, who knows what kind of
things are out there." Peter warned.

"I know, I know." Ace said, getting up and going back to
his boat.

When he got back to his island he went into his tent and
pulled out a flashlight for when it got dark. The sun would
start setting soon, and it would take him a little while to
search the whole island. He set out walking into the
darkness of the jungle. He looked for her high and low with
no luck. After a while, it got dark and the sounds of the
trees came alive. He didn't want to admit to himself that
he was getting kinda scared being out there alone, but he
was.

Ace was just about to turn back when he noticed light
coming from a cave. He thought his mind was playing tricks
on him, "It couldn't be," he said to himself.

He tip-toed into the cave and peered around, "Hello?" he
whispered. "Is anyone in here?"

There was no response so he walked in. As he investigated
he noticed a bed made out of what looked like animal fur, a
fire in the middle with a hole above it for the smoke, and
some tables and shelves made out of wood and stone. He
walked over to one of the tables and noticed jewelry made
out of twine, stone, and animals bones sitting across it.

"It must be the girls home." He whispered intrigued.

Suddenly he heard low growling. He held his breath as he
turned to face where the sound was coming from. In front of
him stood what looked like a huge mutated mountain lion. It
stood at least 8 feet tall, with huge claws and fangs. It
had hair all over its body and large cat ears and tail. The
thing clenched it's fists and growled as Ace stood in
shock.

"Listen....I...I'm really sorry...I thought someone I knew
lived here and I was just..."

He was cut off by the loud roar of the cat. It snorted and
moved closer, investigating this intruder. It sniffed Ace's
hair and backed away. Ace stood trembling as the thing
looked him up and down. He thought it was going to eat him
alive!

"Please...don't hurt me!" Ace begged falling to his knees.

The cat cocked it's head at Ace in confusion. Suddenly a
spider monkey came flying into the cave and jumped onto the
cat's shoulder. Then it jumped into Ace's arms. It pulled
on Ace's hair and Ace noticed the cat smiling, at least he
hoped it was smiling.

Ace just started to feel relieved when out of no where a
large animal grabbed the cat from behind. The cat howled
and swung the animal off. Ace noticed that there was a pack
of large animals surrounding the cave entrance. The cat ran
out of the cave, obviously trying to get them away from
it's home. Ace held the squealing monkey as he crawled
towards the door to watch. The cat was getting attacked by
the pack at the same time. Ace could tell it was getting
tired out but there was nothing he could do to help it, and
did he even want to?

With the monkey in hand, Ace made a dash out of the cave
back towards his tent. As he ran he tripped over a root and
fell on his face. The monkey sat up next to Ace and shook
it's head, then looked at Ace on the ground. Ace lifted his
head and tasted blood in his mouth.

"What a wonderful thing to happen after all this other
shit," he spat then lifted himself up. He found himself
face to face with one of the animals in the pack. The
monkey jumped up and down squeaking at the dog.

"Nice doggie..." Ace backed up and tripped over the same
root again, landing on his ass. The animal moved closer.
"Please...don't kill me!" he cried.

The animal lunged forward and Ace covered his eyes, then
heard snarling. He opened his eyes slowly to find the cat
kicking the shit out of the animal. The animal went
scurrying away yelping and the cat stumbled toward Ace.

"Look, you'd probably get along better with Peter! He's a
cat person!....Please don't hurt me!"

The cat whimpered and fell to the ground. Ace peered at it
and was about to make a break for it when he realized that
it had saved him from the wild dog. He sighed and turned
back towards it, then noticed the monkey run to it.

"Wait a minute." He bent down next to it and gently touched
it's wrist for a pulse. It had one, but it was beaten up
pretty badly. Ace looked at the monkey then realized it was
the same monkey that was with the girl. "Why didn't you
tell me she was a giant cat?" Ace smiled at the monkey.

Ace paced back and forth, he didn't want to reveal her to
the other people because they might want to hurt her, but
he had no way to carry her. Suddenly he heard the monkey
screaming. He stared down at the cat and watched the animal
morphing. It's ears went from cat to human, the fur
disappeared, the claws and fangs shrunk and there on the
ground layed the naked girl. Ace blinked his eyes and shook
his head. "What the??...Man, shit like this drives people
to drink!"

He bent down next to the girl and lifted her in his arms.
He was going to carry her to her cave, but figured he'd try
to bring her back to his tent. He had more supplies to take
care of her there. He heard the monkey squeak, and looked
down at it.

"She called you Coco right?" Ace asked. The monkey just
stared up at him. "C'mon Coco, I'm sure you could use some
rest too."

As Ace neared the camp spot, someone jumped out of the
bushes and almost made him drop the girl. Coco, ran behind
Ace's leg to hide himself.

"Ace, are you ok man?!" Peter asked, then looked down at
the girl. "Woah, is that your jungle chick?"

"Yes! What the hell are you doing hiding in the bushes?!
You nearly gave me a coronary!" Ace complained.

"I had just looked around camp for you and no one knew
where you went. I got nervous about you traipsing around
the jungle alone. So, I was on my way to find you when I
saw you walking this way, didn't mean to scare you. So,
what happened to the girl?"

"Peter, if I told you, you'd never believe me." Ace sighed.
"She got into a fight, in the morning I'll give you
details."

"That bad, huh?" Peter smiled.

"Yeah, you wanna crash over here for the night instead of
making another trip on the boat?" Ace offered.

"Sure, I wouldn't miss out on spending the night with a
naked jungle chick!" Peter laughed.

"Your starting to act like Gene." Ace shook his head, then
headed toward his tent.

He layed the girl down on one side of his bed, pulling one
of his t-shirts over her head. He examined her wounds and
grabbed the First Aid Kit out from under his bed. He
carefully wiped away blood and dirt with some peroxide,
then bandaged the wounds. He pulled some blankets over her,
then went to get Peter some sleeping supplies. Peter sat
next to the girl while Ace was gone, to watch over her. He
was startled when Coco came running in, then dived under
the covers next to the girl. Coco looked at Peter.

"She's a friend of yours?" Peter laughed.

Ace walked in and noticed Peter studying Coco. "The monkey
stays with her at all times." He chuckled. "Here's your
stuff, get comfortable, and keep to your side of the tent."

"Thanks" Peter smiled taking the blankets and snuggling
down in them.

Ace pulled his shirt off, then climbed in the bed next to
the girl. Coco was cuddled under one of her arms sound
asleep. He ran his fingers through her long hair and
sighed, then closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Day 3

Ace woke with a start and glanced to his side, noticing the
girl wasn't there. He glanced around the tent and noticed
Peter was also missing. He got up and pulled a shirt on,
then walked outside.

Peter and the girl were sitting in the sand talking. Coco
was laying next to them, chewing on a piece of fruit. Peter
glanced up and saw Ace walking out of the tent.

Nudging the girl he said, "There's your man."

She looked over, then jumped to her feet running to Ace and
throwing her arms around him. Ace smiled, wrapping his arms
around her tiny frame.

"How are you feeling?" He asked.

"I better." She smiled.

"Good." He said putting an arm around her and walking over
to Peter.

"She was trying to tell me about her life." Peter gestured
to the drawings in the sand she had made. There were
animals, a boat, and her cave.

"Woah, you know how to draw?" Ace asked.

"Me put pictures from here to there." She said pointing
from her head to the sand.

"Oh...I get it." He complied. "So, can you tell me about
you turning into a huge cat?"

She shyly looked away from him.

Peter glared at Ace, "what are you talking about?"

"Well, last night when I went looking for her, I had gotten
attacked by a pack of wild dogs. Then suddenly this huge
cat came and saved me, but got beat up really badly. I was
about to make a run for it, then the cat just collapsed. I
figured I'd help it since it saved me, so I stuck around.
Then out of no where, the cat mutated into the girl."

Peter stared dumbfounded at Ace. "You mean to tell me, this
girl is some sort of mutant? and a cat no less?"

Ace nodded.

"It true..." the girl said sadly. "I am cat and person."

"Hey, don't be sad." Ace said hugging her. "I think it's
pretty cool!"

"You not scared?" she asked.

He kissed her forehead, "No, not at all."

Peter wondered, "Do you know why you turn into a cat?"

"Since I remember, I take care of islands from dogs. When
me are angry, me change to big cat. Then me able to be
strong."

"But you don't know what gave you the ability to change?"

"I not remember," she said shrugging her shoulders.

"Hmmm....that's very interesting." Peter smiled.

"Hey I have an idea!" Ace said happily.

"Oh boy, here it comes!" Peter joked.

"Why don't you stay with me while we're stuck on the
island? I can teach you some more English and show you some
cool stuff, what do you say?"

The girl smiled brightly, "Me like to stay with you!"

"Great! Now we just gotta get you some clothes!" he
laughed.
********************************************

Ace decided to visit an old flame who was now a close
friend of his, Ana. He had met her a long time ago at a
concert in Brazil and they had dated for a while, until
distance and him being on tour became a hardship they
couldn't work out. They decided to stay friends and had
kept in touch through the years. She had told him that the
cruise for the fans would be an awesome idea, and she had
also informed him of the mailing list she had been on for a
while, Girl_Talk.

Ace pulled back the tent door, "Ana, you in here?"

"Ace, I'll be right out!" Ana replied from inside the tent.
A few seconds later she came running out, greeting Ace with
a big hug.

"It's so great to see you again!" Ace admitted. "Are you
enjoying your time on the island?"

Just as Ace finished asking the question, Ana's own "Ace"
came out of the tent and walked past Ana and Ace with a
grin on his face.

Ana giggled. "We've been having a wonderful time!"

Ace chuckled, "I'm glad to hear that. Anyway, I came over
here to ask for your help."

"What do you need?"

"Actually, some of your clothes." Ace laughed at the sound
of that.

"What? why?" Ana was totally confused.

"Just bring a couple shirts and shorts, and come with me,
I'll explain everything to you on the way to my tent." Ace
said.
*************************************************

"So, I figured you could help show her some girl things,
and maybe befriend her so she feels a little more
comfortable while we're here?"

"That's amazing! I'd love to help her out!" Ana smiled.

"Well, there she is...." Ace said as they approach the
young girl.

Ana studied the girl. She was very pretty, and Ana could
see why Ace would want to keep her near.

The girl looked up and smiled at Ace and his friend. "Hi"
she said, waving to Ana.

"Hello" Ana said softly. "I'm Ana, a friend of Aces'."

"Ace" the girls eyes brightened as she looked toward Ace.

"Yes," Ana giggled. She could see the girl really liked
Ace. She bent down and took the girls hand, "Come with me
hun, we'll get you changed."

The girl followed Ana into Ace's tent. Ace sat down next to
Peter in the sand.

"I'm worried about her..." he said sifting sand through his
fingers.

"Why? She seems ok." Peter shrugged.

"Yeah, but she's been on this island her whole life,
doesn't know how she got here. And don't forget she's a
mutant, don't you wonder where she came from?"

"Hmmm...I see your point. How could we find out how she got
here?" Peter asked.

"I don't know, but I will find out before we leave these
islands." Ace peered toward the tent and watched the
shadows of Ana and the girl. He sighed. "Do you think we
should take her back with us?"

"I don't know about that, this is her home. Plus...how do
you think people will react to a mutant?" Peter tried to
reason.

"Your right...but...I don't think I could leave her
here...." Ace murmured.

"Let's cross that bridge when we come to it. For now, teach
her some things, keep her company, just be there for her."

"I will..." he smiled.
**************************************************

"Here..." Ana said, handing the girl a pair of shorts and a
tank top. "Sweetie, do you have a name?" Ana asked.

The girl shook her head. "Me not have name."

"No name?" Ana whispered. "Well, would you like a name?"

"Me want name!" the girl nodded her head eagerly, as she
pulled the shorts on. Coco sat on Ana's bed observing what
was going on.

"Hmmm....what would be a good name for you?" Ana asked
herself. "How about a KISS song?"

"KISS song?" The girl questioned.

"Yes! That'd be perfect...Christine...Beth...Shandi...."

"Shandi!" she yelled, interrupting Ana.

"You like Shandi? Then you'll be Shandi!" Ana smiled. "Now
c'mon, let's show Ace how you've cleaned up."

Ana and Shandi with Coco in her arms walked out of the
tent, Ace and Peter looked up with smiles.

"Hey she looks great!" Ace said, walking up to Shandi and
hugging her.

"We picked out a name for her..." Ana grinned.

"And that would be?" Peter asked.

"Shandi!"

Ace looked at Shandi, holding her in his arms, "My
Shandi...," he whispered, leaning forward to kiss her.
Shandi was not quite sure what he was doing, but she went
with the flow and allowed him to kiss her.
*****************************************************

For the next few days, Ana spent some of her time showing
Shandi how to act like a lady, and teaching her things
about romance and relationships. Ana bonded to Shandi,
feeling as though she had known someone like her from her
childhood. Ana shrugged the idea off as a coincidence, but
couldn't shake the feeling she had met Shandi sometime
before.

Ace helped Shandi learn some extra English and he tried
teaching her how to play guitar. Peter had stopped by Ace's
island every so often to see how his friend and Shandi were
doing. One of the days Peter had stopped by, Shandi had
sensed the dogs close to the peoples camping area, and so
showed off her morphing ability to Peter and Ana. Needless
to say, the dogs never came too close to the camp, so
Shandi had never had to expose her secret to the other
people in the camp.
****************************************************

It was nearing the end of the first week on the islands.
Ana had Shandi in her tent and was trimming her long locks
of the dead ends. Ace had asked Peter to stop by to give
him advice, so the two were sitting by Ace's tent smoking
cigarettes.

"So whats up?" Peter asked, lighting a Marlboro.

"It's about Shandi...." Ace sighed.

"What? Is she ok?"

"Yeah she's fine..." Ace paused and looked down at his
feet, "I really think I'm falling for her."

"That's understandable. But what's the problem?" Peter
asked.

"Well, I want to show her how I feel. I want to sleep with
her. I just don't know if she understands and I thought I'd
ask you what you would do in my place?"

Peter laughed and smacked Ace on the back. "Your too much
Ace..."

"I'm being serious!" Ace barked.

"I know you are." Peter calmed his chuckling, "Listen, if
you like the girl that much...ease her into it...explain
what you have to, let her ask questions. I'm sure it'll go
smoothly..."

"Good...I'll do it tonight then. Wish me luck!" Ace smiled
and went into his tent to prepare for the evenings events.

"Good luck man..." Peter sighed, hoping his friend knew
what he could be getting himself into.
********************************************************

Shandi walked down the beach from Ana's tent to Aces'. She
wore a long white sundress Ana had lended to her after
Shandi mentioned Ace was planning something special for
her. Coco would be staying the night with Ana, she had
insisted. As she approached Ace's tent, she felt a knot
twisting in her belly. She didn't know why she was nervous,
she was never nervous around Ace.

"Ace? Are you here?" she asked approaching the tent.

"Shandi, come in...." He answered from inside.

She pulled the tent door open and gasped at all the candles
lit around the tent. Ace approached her with a flower in
his hand. He kissed her gently and handed her the flower.

"This is for you." He said, stroking her cheek.

"Thank you. This is very beautiful."

"I thought it would be perfect for my beautiful girl." Ace
said slyly.

Shandi blushed. "Your so sweet, but what's this all for?"

"Well..." Ace took her hand and led her over to the bed
where the two sat. "I want you to know that I really care
about you. I know Ana has been telling you about how
relationships work and..."

Ace was cut off by Shandi's lips on his. He surrendered to
her kiss, wrapping his arms around her. He eased her back
and kissed down her neck. He looked up at her, "You
understand this right?"

"Yes, please don't stop," Shandi whispered.

Ace grinned and did not stop.

Afterwards, she ran her fingers through his hair and smiled
to herself. She knew her life would be changing now, and
for the better. She'd have Ace with her, and he accepted
her for who she was. Even his friends liked her. She didn't
want anything to ruin this, especially the past that she
couldn't remember. She closed her eyes and drifted to sleep
listening to Ace's shallow breathing.
