Part 31a
By Desiree

Writer's note: As for the deaths of two characters, they
requested it so I did it. They helped me actually devise
the death scene and the method of death. And so everyone
will know, I will be offing a couple of more on the next go
around at their request.

"What the hell is going on?!?" Misha began to look around
at the chaos amongst her. Everything was going crazy.
Pigeons were roosting in the lobby, the elevators were out
of whack, the power kept surging and dying and everyone was
screaming. The rain was pouring into the lobby where the
windows and doors had been thrown open and everything was
getting wet.

She was getting more than impatient, "Dammit. I wish it
would stop raining. My makeup is getting ruined." Suddenly
the rain stopped, as if on command.

Hey... How did that happen? Misha thought to herself.
Surely her request didn't stop the rain from falling. She
must be going crazy.

"Rain." She said out loud. The rain began again, leaving
Misha totally dumbfounded. "Stop." She commanded. The rain
stopped. A few people looked around at the rain stopping
and starting.

"I gotta go tell Cyn and Des. They won't believe me. Misha
went off in search of her sister and friend, still confused
at how she was able to control the rain.

Desiree got to the elevator and ripped off the panel. She
needed to get the thing working again and she knew of no
other way. She was going to hate the repair bill for that
one. Getting the elevator to work was easy, but replacing
the panel she destroyed in the process wasn't. Desiree made
a few swift moves amongst the wires and the elevator was
operational again. When the elevator reached their floor
and the doors opened, it was empty. Raven was gone. She
looked to Shannon. "I thought you said she was in here."

Shannon was just as surprised. "She was. Damn! I hope
E.V.I.L. doesn't have her."

Desiree looked at Shannon. "Who's E.V.I.L.?"

"He's only the one trying to destroy Kiss and all of us on
the group too."

"What are you talking about?" Desiree asked in confusion.

Shannon pulled Desiree to a bench down the hall. "Have you
ever wondered how you are able to fix anything that breaks
or goes wrong?"

"Yeah. Lots of times, but what has that got to do with Kiss
and us?"

Shannon started to explain everything. Desiree listened
with intent disbelief.

Cyn went back to her room to be alone. This trip wasn't
turning out to be as fun as she had thought. Seeing
everyone and listening to everyone talk about Eric only
upset her more. Time and other interests had not healed her
heart. She threw herself on her bed and began to cry
uncontrollably, never noticing when the lights flickered
and the television changed channels and the phones began to
ring. She was too deep into her tears.

Cyn had been in love with Eric Carr for a long time. They
met right after he joined Kiss and there had been an
immediate attraction. They went everywhere together. No one
had noticed them at the time because Kiss was still in
makeup, so when they went out, they were never bothered.

When Kiss took off their makeup, Cyn began to feel the
pressure related to dating a recognized star. When she
started getting death threats, she backed away from Eric.
He had been devastated at first, but went on with the
touring and writing, always thinking about Cyn.

Eric was seen in public with a few models, but his heart
had remained with Cyn. When he heard she had moved in with
someone else and had a baby, he knew things were over. Then
in 1989, he spotted her at a concert. He immediately sent
one of the crew after her and had her brought backstage.
Her boyfriend was mad, but she didn't care.

After the encore, Eric ran for the back of the stage. He
had to see her. What he saw made him mad. Cyn stood there,
her face covered in bruises. He had not seen them from the
stage because she had them covered with makeup, but he
could see them now. "Who did this to you? I am gonna kill
him."

"Please don't. It'll only make things worse. He's already
going crazy because I'm back here without him. If you get
him any madder, he'll kill me."

"No he won't. I want him back here now. Where is your
daughter?"

Cyn looked at Eric with disbelief. "How did you know I had
a daughter?"

"I have my ways. I've never lost track of you, but
obviously I didn't keep enough attention on you. Now where
is she?"

"She's with my sister, Kristy."

"Fine. Now give me your sister's address and I want you to
call her right now and give my friend permission to take
her. Then I want you to go back out there and get that
jackass and bring him back here with the story of getting
to meet all of us. I'm going to take care of this here and
now. Your daughter will be in safe hands and you won't have
to deal with him again."

Cynthia did as she was told. She called Kristy and gave her
the information. She then went out and got Robert. He
slapped her for going backstage, but when she said that the
guys of Kiss wanted to meet him, he quickly changed his
tune and headed for the stage.

Eric told the rest of the guys the situation and they were
all waiting when Robert and Cynthia walked into the waiting
area. Eric had to turn his face so that no one would see
how mad he was. Paul and Gene introduced themselves and
then Bruce. They talked for a few minutes, trying to make
Robert feel at ease. He never saw when Bruce gave a motion
to the local police.

The officer walked over and tapped Robert on the shoulder.

"Can I help you," he asked as he turned.

"Sir, you are under arrest." The officer informed him.

"For what? I haven't done anything wrong."

"Sir, we have a report that said you were seen slapping
this woman here just a few minutes ago."

"Who said that? I didn't hit her. Tell them I didn't hit
you."

Cynthia just stood there and began to cry.

Eric walked over and pulled her into his arms. He looked at
Robert. "I saw you hit her and so did the rest of the guys
as well as the crew and about 10,000 other people. You
won't get away with hurting her any more."

Gene looked at him. "You're just lucky that I didn't get my
hands on you. I would have ripped you to shreds. You must
be dickless because no man would ever hit a woman. How you
conceived a baby I'll never know. Now take him away. I
don't want garbage like that soiling my stage."

The police escorted Robert out of the arena to a waiting
police car.

Eric pulled Cynthia closer. "It's okay. We have Shandi and
both of you are coming with me. I won't let you get away
again."

Gene, Paul and Bruce patted Cynthia on the back.

"You're going to be okay. But did you really name your kid
Shandi," Paul asked.

Cynthia looked up at Paul and smiled. She told the guys the
story behind her daughter's name. Everyone laughed at the
idea of Cynthia's daughter being named Fifi if it hadn't
been for the Brother-in-Law being a huge Kiss fan.

The months after the concert had been the best Cynthia had
spent in several years. She had never gotten over Eric and
here they were, back together. Her life was great. But then
Eric got sick. Watching him suffering in pain nearly killed
her. And when he died, Cynthia nearly died too. If it
hadn't been for her newfound sister Misha, she didn't think
she would have survived.

Misha had no idea that Cyn had been living with Eric Carr.
That part of her life had been kept from her family, out of
fear that Robert would try to find her and Shandi. So when
Misha and Cyn came together as a family, it was a very sad
sister Misha had met. She never could get a good answer as
to why Cyn cried all of the time.

Misha tried everything to pull Cyn out of her depression,
but nothing worked. Misha had heard Cyn talking to herself
on a constant basis over the years and always crying about
something, but she took it for untreated depression and
never really did anything about it other than try to help
her sister by keeping her busy. Eventually, Cyn came back
to life, but there always seemed to be something missing.

When Misha heard about the Kiss gathering, she figured that
was the perfect place to finally pull Cyn from her funk.
They were both Kiss fans and Cyn had always gone on and on
about Paul Stanley and how she was just crazy about him.
Misha figured this would be a good opportunity to see Gene
again and possibly get Cyn one wild night with Paul. Cyn
had never told Misha about her time with Eric and about
knowing the others. Nor did Misha know that Cyn used Paul
as the tool to hide her real affections. Shandi had been
very young when Eric died, so her secret was safe forever.

Eric saw Cynthia when she arrived at the hotel. He had
hoped she would be there since she was a Kiss fan. He knew
that suddenly seeing him after thinking him dead for so
many years was going to be a shock, but the time had
finally come to where he could divulge his secret to her
and possibly resume their life together. Eric knew there
would be lots of explaining, but he knew that she would
understand once the shock wore off.

When all hell broke loose in the hotel, Eric stopped what
he was doing and left to go search for Cyn. He knew what
was going on and he had to protect Cyn from E.V.I.L. He was
not going to allow anything else to happen to her. He found
her room amongst the chaos and prepared himself to enter
the room. Fortunately the hall was empty of people with
everything going on. He could enter undetected for the time
being. Loud sobs escaped the room. Something was wrong with
Cyn.

Eric kicked in the door. Cyn jumped from the bed at the
sound of the door crashing to the ground. When she saw
Eric, she fainted.

After explaining everything to Des, Shannon left. Desiree
stood in the middle of the hall thinking about everything
Shannon had said and trying to make sense of everything. It
explained why Des was able to fix anything and handle a
crisis in a calm and precise manner. Des decided she needed
to go try and fix the electrical and telephone problems
before figuring out how to deal with this E.V.I.L. person.

Bruce was holding Lorie and escorting her down the hall. He
was fussing over her and making sure she was okay. Desiree
saw them together and her heart ripped with pain and
jealousy. She had been so busy working on the elevator and
stuff, she lost out on Bruce. "Who's that with him," she
wondered and then she heard Bruce call her by name. "So
that's Lorie. I didn't recognize her. She looks different
than her pictures." Desiree's jealousy subsided a bit. She
knew Lorie was a Kissister and she would never begrudge a
fellow sister of anything. The only problem was that with
Lorie and Bruce so close, either Lorie was already claimed
by Bruce or about to be. This only upset her more because
she knew that once a claim was made, she would never have a
chance with Bruce without upsetting a sister. DAMN. DAMN.
DAMN. Life just isn't fair!! Desiree resolved her mind to
accept Lorie and Bruce together. She didn't like it, but
she knew she couldn't interfere now.

Eric Singer felt a jolt go through his body. Something was
wrong. He heard the sirens going off and watched as the
lights flickered. "As if I wasn't already nervous about
this gathering, now everything is going haywire and I'm
having electric currents running through my body." Eric
thought he better go see if he could find Paul and Gene.

He opened his door and ran right into someone.

"Excuse me," Eric said as he helped the woman to her feet.

"Oh my God. You're Eric Singer. I can't believe it."

Eric looked at the woman in the Revenge t-shirt and jeans.
She was cute. "Yeah, I'm Eric Singer," he said as he helped
her up. "Now tell me who you are."

"Uh, my name's Desiree, but my friends call me Des."

Eric looked at her again. "Is your name really Desiree?"

"Yeah. Funny isn't it. My Dad was weird and he liked French
sounding names. My Mom hated it, but he won out."

"So, I see you're a Kiss fan," Eric said while pointing to
Desiree's shirt.

"Oh yeah. I'm a huge fan. I love you guys. You're the
greatest."

Eric was relieved. His first fan encounter at the gathering
and she wasn't blaming him for replacing Peter. Maybe this
wouldn't be so bad after all. "So you like Revenge?"

Desiree smiled. "It's my favorite album. It has such a raw
and gritty sound. I love it. I've already worn out 4 copies
playing them over and over again."

Eric laughed. "You're funny. What are you doing right now?"

Des looked at Eric. She couldn't believe she was talking to
him. He wasn't Bruce, but he was cute with his shorter,
darker hair and yummy legs and she did love his playing. "I
was about to go to the lobby to see what I could do to
help." Des remembered what Shannon had said about all of
the members of Kiss having special abilities and she
wondered what Eric's was and if he knew yet.

Des decided to see if she could get some information from
Eric. "So, what do you think about this E.V.I.L.
organization?"

Eric looked at Des with a bit of confusion. "What E.V.I.L.
are you talking about? I don't think I've heard of them
before."

Desiree began to explain what Shannon had told her. Eric
knew that if Shannon had said it was true and Val had known
about it, then it had to be true. He had known Val for a
long time and he knew that she was sensitive to weird
things.

Eric looked at Des. "So, according to Shannon, we all have
some kind of super hero powers?"

"I don't know if you could call us Super Heroes, but she
did say that we all had some type of ability that when they
were all put together, could defeat this E.V.I.L. that has
obviously been after Kiss for a very long time."

Eric was stunned. "So you're telling me that when all of us
get together, we can defeat this thing?"

"That's what Shannon said."

Eric stopped Desiree. "So if we have these abilities, what
are yours?"

Desiree explained about being able to fix things and
situations. She told him about Shannon and the other guys
from Kiss and some of her fellow sisters. She then
explained that according to Shannon, not everyone knew what
they could do yet and that only time would tell.

She then went on to explain what Shannon had told her about
the weird things that had just occurred.

"Oh, Man," said Eric.

"What's wrong," Des asked.

"When all of that stuff happened, I felt a surge run
through my body. I don't know how to explain it, but it has
to be related to all of this."

Eric suggested they go back to his room and try to figure
out what his abilities were. Des told him that she had to
go to the lobby and make sure everything was okay and then
she would meet him there.

Desiree and Eric split up. Eric went back to his room to
wait for Des and she headed for the lobby. What she saw was
chaos. Birds were everywhere and the hotel occupants were
running around hysterical.

Des did not recognize any of her sisters, but she figured
that with the realization of everything going on, they were
all probably doing something to assist with the situation
at hand. Des found the phone system and got it back on
line. She then sought out the computer server and found
everything that had disappeared at the time of the power
surges. When the hotel computers were operational, Des
found the main power grid and got the various lighting
problems repaired.

When she finished, she headed back upstairs to find Eric's
room. No one would believe she was actually going to get to
be alone with a member of Kiss.
