Part 11 (by SLK)

Cindy carefully placed the jacket in the clothes bag, this was

part of outfit that she planned to wear to the concert and she wanted

it to be perfect, just in case she did get to meet KISS, more so Paul.

She had gotten lucky and seen them twice on the farewell tour, but

never close enough to meet him. She closed her eyes and thought about

the dream she had just last night. She remembered the tender embrace,

but there was something that was out of place in her dream. Paul was

there holding her and whispering in her ear, but not tender words of

endearment, but warnings. Of what she didn't know. What in the world

could happen with so many people around. She was going to meet the

other members of KISS girltalk. There would be allot of them. They

were all meeting up together in New York and would be together till

they all left to go their separate ways. She couldn't help the tear

that slid down her cheek. Not only would they be going their separate

ways, but so would KISS. She had loved KISS ever since she first

heard Beth. Now it was more than 25 years later. The band had had

many changes over the years and many different members, but it was the

original four that she had first fallen in love with. She was so glad

when she read on the list that Peter was going to be back for the

final concert. It was also posted that all of the members would be

there along with the trib bands. It was thanks to some special

KISSisters that they were all going to be there together. Speaking of

getting there, Cindy reminder herself, she better get going if she was

going to make it to the airport in time.

She frowned when she thought about the airport. She was deathly

afraid of flying. She knew she wasn't alone. Holly and Cyn had both

wrote in the group that they were afraid to fly. Cindy wondered if

they made in on the plane. Cyn said that she would have to have a few

drinks first. That didn't sound like a bad idea. If Cindy didn't

have to drive so far to the Airport, then she would probably started

already. It was a shame they didn't live closer and them they could

all have driven to New York together. She was going to get to New

York no matter what.

She glanced at her watch and mentally tried to hurry herself up.

She loved living in the country, but it did have it's disadvantages.

In order not to have to change planes so many times and to avoid the

smaller ones, she was having to drive 5 hours to the airport. She

could have went out of Dallas or New Orleans so she decided that New

Orleans would be it. She got everything in the Firebird and rechecked

it for the umpteenth time. She slid in behind the wheel. Just one

thing left to do. She put KISS the first album in the CD player and

laid the CD case on console next to her. She had all the CDs and she

would be jamming all the way to the airport.

She made it to New Orleans International Airport in a little

under 5 hours. She had been jamming with the boys all the way and

guess she was a little more anxious then she thought to get there.

Thanks goodness she didn't get the blue light special. She finally

found a parking space, after about 20 minutes of circling in the lot

designated for leaving your car and got all her luggage out and made

sure the car was locked up and then headed towards the entrance.

She was just about to go in the door when someone rushed by her

causing her to drop her bags. She swore quietly as she tried

gathering up her luggage. She just about had it when someone tapped

her on the shoulder. She turned around to see an elderly woman

standing besides her. Her silvery gray hair flowing long down her

back. The old woman reached out a trembling weathered hand and

touched Cindy long dark curls. Cindy knew that she should hurry

on, but something about this old woman made her stay. The old woman's

voice, thick with a Creole accent, whispered in a frail voice, "Such

beautiful hair, never cut it! That has been the down fall of many!

Be wary of who you trust!" Just then the bag that Cindy had thought

she had slipped from her hand and thudded to the floor. "Damn it!"

She said and bent over to pick it up. "Who are ya' and what do ya'

mean?" Cindy asked as she stood back up trying to get a better hold

on the bags, but her words were not heard. The old woman was gone.

Where had she gone? Cindy couldn't help but think about the dream and

the old woman, did they have anything in common? Naw, she was just

letting superstition and old Cajun tales getting to her.

She had been doing research for a new cajun story and had read

allot about the Creole and their beliefs in voodoo. Cindy laughed to

herself. Maybe it was Marie LaVoe herself. With that thought she

headed to the ticket counter and got her ticket.

"You had better hurry Miss, they just called last call." The

attendant told her. "Oh shit! Tell 'em to hold that plane!" She

made a made dash for the security check. They hurriedly checked her

carry on and directed her to the appropriate gate. She made it there

completely out of breath. "You made it just in time the Stewardess

said politely. "Whew! Didn't think I was." Cindy drawled and they

laughed.

The stewardess showed her to her seat. "Oh great. A window

seat!" Cindy moaned feeling panic threatening to set in. "Excuse me

Miss, would you like to trade?" Cindy turned toward the offer and

notice an older looking man attired in what looked like a very

expensive business suit. "Would ya' mind? This is my first flight

and I am terrified. I think it will only get worse if I have to be by

the window." "No problem. I fly on business at least once a week and

I usually get the window seat, but this was last minute and they were

all taken." So they exchanged seats after he helped her stow her

carry on.

Cindy settled down in her seat and tried to think of something

else as the seat belt sign flashed and the engines rumbled. She

wondered if Cyn had gotten that drink she talked about. Cindy thought

about her KISSister that had the same name. They both liked Paul.

They weren't the only ones with the same name. There was Shannon and

Shannon but one went by Shandi on the list to keep down confusion.

Cindy went by "SiLK" on the list and decided that she would stick with

that to help keep down the confusion. Besides maybe the name "Silk"

would be tempting enough that Paul would just have to find out for

himself.

Cindy felt the plane take off and closed her eyes and prayed.

"You can take you seat belt off now if you would like" The nice

stewardess offered. "Uh, no thanks, think I will just keep it on for

a while." Cindy said shaking her head. She needed a little extra

security right now. The stewardess laughed, "First time flyer right?

I bet you'd like a drink or two." She added.. "I definitely would.

Thanks."

After a few drinks Cindy felt more relaxed and decided to try and

rest. She knew once she got to New York that there would be little

time for resting. KISS girltalk was going to New York and it would

never know what hit it!
