Wildest Dreams
by Shea

Part Nine

The shrill ringing of the alarm jarred them out of their
slumber. Shea groaned and turned off the offending noise. She turned
to face Paul, who was rubbing his eyes sleepily.
"Morning sleepy head." she said slipping her arms around his neck.
"Good morning." Paul said. "Sleep well?"
"Like a baby. You?"
"Great." he said before leaning over to kiss her lips. "Too bad we
can't spend the day here baby"
"Ummm I like the way your mind works....but alas, duty calls." Shea
pouted.
"Yeah, I know," he sighed. "Why don't you hop in the shower while I
make the coffee?"
"That works for me." she said. She got up off the bed and grabbed her
robe before heading to the bathroom. Paul pulled on his jeans before
he made his way into the kitchen.
Shea stepped under the hot spray to wash her hair. She was
massaging shampoo into her hair when she heard the door open.
"Carol, is that you?" Shea asked, eyes shut so the shampoo wouldn't
run into her eyes.
"No, its not Carol. She just left. I have you aaaaaaaalllllllll to
myself." Paul said as he stepped into the shower with her. Strong
arms pulled her close to him as he placed a soft kiss on the back of
her neck.
"This day is getting off to a good start already,." Shea
joked "Before I've even had my coffee."
She turned to face him, wrapping her arms around his waist as she
stood on tiptoe to kiss him. She ran her hands up and down his slick
back, reaching down to grip his butt.
"Now, now little lady, let's not start something we can't finish."
Paul playfully admonished.
Shea looked up at him with a pout worthy of his own, "Damn work." she
sighed, wrapping her arms around his waist and laying her head on his
chest.
"I know. We need to hurry or we'll both be late." he chuckled.
They finished showering and went back to Shea's bedroom to get
dressed.
"So do you think you could meet me for lunch again today?" Paul asked
as he zipped his jeans.
"I can't today. I have to teach an intro class because Bo has to go
to a funeral." Shea told him sadly.
"Well, we'll have to see if we can get together this evening then. "
Paul said as he buttoned his shirt.
"That would be great. Your place or mine?"
"Mine, I get the feeling you don't want a repeat of last night." he
joked, which made Shea blush bright red.
"I'll pass on that thank you." she told him. Paul walked over and
took her into his arms. He held her close for a few moments.
"I'll be thinking of you all day today." he whispered against her
hair.
"I'll be thinking of you too, Paul."
Paul sat down on her bed, taking her with him so that she stood
between his thighs. He looked up at her and smiled. Shea leaned down
to kiss his lips softly.
"I hate to say this but we have to go."
"I know." Paul whispered.
They finished getting ready and were soon headed out the door. Paul
carried her bag out to the car for her and gave her a quick kiss
before getting into his car and making his way downtown Shea cranked
her car and headed to the health club.

*************************************************************
Shea parked her car in the health club parking lot. She
didn't see Rachel at the doors watching her as she got her bag out of
the trunk. Rachel's eyes narrowed with dislike as she watched Shea
place her bag on the ground and close the trunk of her car. Rachel
hurried inside, an idea formulating in her mind.

Paul stopped by his apartment long enough to change clothes
and grab a quick cup of tea before heading to rehearshals. He wanted
to get there early so he could go over some of the music before
rehearshals began. He hoped that today would be better than yesterday.

Shea stowed her gear and got ready for her first class of the
day. The kids would be arriving soon and she wanted to be ready. She
went over to talk to Julie for a few minutes before class started.
"So, how is your day so far?" Julie asked her.
"Pretty good." Shea told her, "I just hope today goes by quickly."
"Wanting to get back with your man, I bet." Julie said with a grin.
"Yeah. I do." Shea admitted.
"I don't blame you on that though. Now what was that all about
yesterday with that new customer?"
Shea sighed and looked around before she spoke.
"She's in the show with Paul and seems to have her eye on him. She's
jealous of me I guess. I just hope that her little remarks yesterday
are all that happens."
"What did she say?"
"That I should stay away from Paul and that I would lose him, that he
would lose interest in me and to save myself the heartache. Along
with a few choice profanities."
"Well, if she tries anything, you could always kick her ass." Julie
said
"True. But I'd rather not fight if I can avoid it. There could be
quite a legal headache you know."
"Yeah but knowing you can if you need to probably feels good, doesn't
it?" Julie said
Shea nodded. "Well I need to go teach class. Talk to you later."
Class went well enough that the kids played war ball until their
mothers came to pick them up.
Shea went into the locker room to retrieve her gear bag and grab a
quick lunch before heading to the dojo. Greg was at the desk in the
middle of the workout floor showing off pictures of the new baby.
Shea stopped to talk to him and look at the pictures.

***********************************************************

Rachel stepped back from the car one last time, glancing
around to make sure no one had seen her around the car. She surveyed
her handiwork. This should unnerve the bitch big time. She heard male
voices from the direction of the health club and decided now would be
a good time to beat a hasty retreat, she grabbed her purse and
workout bag from the pavement beside the car before starting to walk
away. She didn't notice the gold compact fall out of the side of her
purse as she walked away.

Shea finally made her way out to her car, ready to grab a
bite to eat and tackle her classes at the dojo. She was glad she
didn't have to come back to the health club tonite to help close up.
As she approached her car she noticed something shiny on the ground
beside the front wheel. As she got closer to the car she saw it was a
compact, then her gaze shifted to the word someone had keyed on the
driver's side door.

BITCH

Stunned, she didn't know whether or not to believe what she
saw. Who would do such a thing and why? She looked down at the
compact and noticed it was engraved with two letters in calligraphy
style script.

R.C.

Who was R.C and did they do this to her car? She thought
she'd better go back inside the health club and make a few phone
calls. She didn't think she should touch the compact, in case it was
evidence. Taking just enough time to put her bag in the trunk, she
turned and walked back inside the health club. She could feel the
anger rising within her as she strode back inside and to the front
desk.
"Hey Shea, forget something?" Julie asked her
"No, I need to use the phone to call the police." Shea said tersely.
"What's wrong??" Julie asked with concern in her voice.
"Someone keyed my car."
"WHAT!!!!!!!"
"Yeah they keyed the word 'bitch' on my car door." Shea said,
fighting the urge to start yelling and cursing.
Julie handed her the phone so she could call first the police then
the dojo.
The officer on the other end of the line said he'd send a car out to
the health club to take her statement and pictures of the damage to
her car.
Ms. Donna answered the phone and told her to come as soon as she
could when Shea told her what had happened.
Twenty long minutes later she was giving her statement to one
police officer while another took pictures of the driver's side door.
They carefully picked up the compact and placed it in a plastic bag
as possible evidence.
"Do you have any idea who might have done this, Ms LeBlanc?"
"Not right off hand, no. " she sighed, thinking of how much it would
cost to have the door repainted. 'there goes my plan of working just
one job after the first of the year.' she sighed inwardly.
"Well, call me if you think of someone." the officer said, handing
her his card. "You can pick up a copy of the report in two days."
"Thanks, I'll do that." Shea said, tucking the card in her wallet.
Shea got in the car and made her way to the dojo, still
shaken and a little angry.
The initials on the compact bothered her. Who was R.C? Could it be
Rachel? She didn't know her last name, but she remembered that the
Nashville Scene had an article on Phantom and they had listed the
main actors by name. She'd find out Rachel's last name first and
then see if her suspicions were confirmed. But that still didn't
answer her question of why? She made a quick trip through the drive
through at Taco Bell and grabbed a burrito and a large soda. She ate
on the way to the dojo, going over the possible reasons Rachel would
do such a destructive thing. A few minutes later she pulled into her
parking place at the dojo and grabbed her bag. Soda in one hand, bag
slung over one shoulder, she walked into the dojo and tossed her the
now empty take out bag into the trash.
"Hey Shea how are you? Are you all right?" Ms. Donna asked her.
"Yeah, just puzzled as to who would do this and why is all."
" Well I hope they find out who did this. It's awful the things
people will do these days."
"Yes it is."
Shea got ready to assist in the little dragons class, but the events
of the day were not far from her mind.

**********************************************************
When Paul finished lunch, he decided to make a quick call to
Shea to see what she wanted to do that evening.
"Hi Shea, how are you??" he asked when she got on the phone.
"I've had better days. My intro didn't show up for one thing."
"That stinks, are you sure something else isn't bothering you? You
sound frazzled."
"I'd rather wait and tell you later. It's too involved to go into
over the phone."
"Ok I understand. I wish you would tell me but I understand. Be
careful, ok?" Paul said, concerned.
"I will. Don't worry with seven black belts at the school, I'm quite
safe." she joked
"Yeah I guess so. I doubt Mr. Donnie would want anything to happen
to you. He seems like a good guy." Paul said.
"He is. I'll be fine, but I know I'll be much better when I see you
again." she said with a smile in her voice at the thought that in a
few hours she would see him again.
"Ok, well, I have to get back to rehearshal, I'll call you when I
get off so we can decide what to do."
"I'll be looking forward to it Paul. See you then."
They hung up and went back to their respective duties.

**********************************************************

Around nine that evening, Shea made her way to her
apartment. She was glad this day was over with. She just hoped that
the police could find out who had keyed her car. She made a note to
check last weeks issue of the Scene to see what Rachel's last name
was. The initials on the compact bothered her still. Something told
her that it was Rachel who had damaged her car. But she needed more
information and the paper was as good a place to start as any. She
put her bag in her room and looked on the dresser for the paper.
While she was looking, the phone rang. Carol picked it up and a few
moments later told her to pick up the phone. Paper in hand, Shea
picked up the cordless in her room and made her way to the kitchen
for a glass of tea.
"Hey Shea. I'm at my place now. Want to go out to a late dinner?"
Paul asked her.
"Hey Paul I think I'd rather eat in if that's ok with you. I'm just
tired and want to relax." Shea said
"I think we can handle that. How does Chinese sound? I could come by
and get you, we pick up the food and go over to my place. Unless you
want to hang there again tonite." he teased.
Shea groaned at the reminder of the previous night. "I'll pass on
that thank you very much." she told him, which made Paul chuckle. "Ok
no potential embarassments tonite. Some good food, a soak in the
jacuzzi should make you feel better," he said. "I'll be by in a few
to pick you up."
"Ok see you in a few. I'll get changed." Shea said before she hung up
the phone.
Shea took a quick shower and put on a pair of jeans and t shirt. She
went by Carol's room where she was playing a computer game.
"Carol, I'm going over to Paul's for the night, so don't wait up for
me, ok?" Shea told her.
"Don't want a repeat of last nite eh??" she teased.
"Not particularly." Shea said blushing.
" Go on, have fun. You deserve it after today. Do you have any idea
who might have keyed your car?"
"You know about that?"
"Yeah I noticed when I came in from the store. That sucks that
someone would do that."
"Yeah it does. I guess I can't go to working at just the dojo in
January now. I'll have to have the door repainted." she sighed.
"Well that bites! Maybe they will find who did it and you can get
them to pay for the damage."
"We can hope for that." Shea said.
There was a knock at the door.
"That's Paul, I'll see you tomorrow ok?"
"Go on," Carol said, making a shooing motion. "Have fun and don't do
anything I wouldn't do." she grinned.
