Nanny
by Lorie

"Ok, Evan, let's try this again. No dessert until
you've eaten your carrots." If this boy wants a battle of
wills he's got one, she thought holding a spoon of soft
carrots in front his tightly shut mouth. Not even the
threat of losing the butterscotch pudding was working. He
was not going to eat his vegetables and that was final. His
little arms were crossed in front of him and he glared at
her with all the determination the two-year old could
muster. "All right, your loss," she sighed as she set aside
the plate started to clean his face.
Of all the nanny jobs she could get , this had to be
the best. She was traveling with KISS on their reunion tour
around the world taking care of Paul Stanley's 2 year old
son, Evan. What a way to see the world and Evan is such a
cutie. She was hired on for the whole tour because Pamela's
work schedule was so erratic that they decided that Paul
should take him on the tour. She also thought it was Pam's
way of making sure Paul would behave himself on the road.
She had to admit Paul is a great dad but what Pam doesn't
know won't hurt her. Another added benefit was she could be
around Peter Criss. The object of her fantasies for as long
as she could remember. He was so sexy and perfect in her
eyes. Now she was going on tour with him! Life was good!
As she was cleaning the remnants of Evan's lunch off
his face, Paul walked over to ask how it was going. "No
carrots again today, so no dessert either," she explained
as she pulled Evan out of his seat. "What was the dessert?"
Paul asked as he picked up his son. "Butterscotch pudding,"
she called over her shoulder as threw away the wet wipes
from the cleanup. Paul made a face and whispered to Evan,
"Good choice." This started Evan in a fit of giggles. "I'll
bring him back before his nap. We're going to explore a
little." With that father and son wandered off.
She now had some time to herself. There wasn't much to
do at the arena and when it was time for Evan's nap they
would be driven back to the hotel, so she grabbed her book
and began the next chapter. She was so involved in the who-
done-it she didn't hear someone sneaking up behind her. "Is
it that good?" a voice said softly in her ear. She squeaked
loudly and jumped out of her seat. She turned around to see
Peter standing there laughing. "You scared me out of my
skin," she said quickly, clutching the book to her chest.
"You look fine to me," he said as he gave her a slow
once over. Her heart started pounding again as his eyes
caressed her. When their eyes met, he smiled, "I couldn't
resist sneaking up on you. You were sitting there, so
intent on what you were reading I couldn't help myself. So
what are you reading?"
She sat back down in her chair as he pulled up a chair
next to her, "It's by Margaret Truman. 'Murder at the
Smithsonian' It's really good. I can hardly put it down."
She knew she was talking fast but she was nervous. Peter
was sitting so close to her she thought she would die.
"I'll have to read it some time, " he said as he
looked at her. They made small talk about different books
they had read and several other topics. Slowly her
nervousness began to fade a little. He was so easy to talk
to. It wasn't long before Paul came back with a sleeping
Evan in his arms. "I guess I wore him out," Paul said with
a little laugh.
She grabbed Evan's bag, carefully took him out of
Paul's arms and said, "Well, I better get him back to the
hotel."
Peter stood up, "Hey, I'll walk you to the limo." With
that they walked to the backstage door. After she got Evan
strapped into his carseat, Peter gently grabbed her arm and
pulled her out of the limo.
"I'd like to continue our conversation later, after
the show," he said softly, his meaning clear. He was so
close she could barely breathe.
"Um…yea…sure. But I have to watch the baby," she
stammered.
He smiled and said "I'll see if I can arrange a night
off for you tonight." He gave her arm a little squeeze
before he let go.
She slowly climbed in the limo and he shut the door.
She watched him say "Later" and the limo pulled away. All
she could do was sit back in the seat in silence.
Back at the hotel, she laid Evan in his crib and sat
on her bed in a daze. Did he say what I thought he said?
Does he really want to 'talk' with me later? Her mind was
racing. While Evan slept, she kept herself busy
straightening their suitcases, arranging to have their
laundry done by the hotel, and so on. All the while Peter's
words replayed in her head. By the time Evan woke up, she
decided she read too much into it and resigned herself to
another night with her charge.
At midnight, she heard a knock on her door. Paul
usually stopped by after the show to see his son before he
went to bed or took off for the night. She was fully
expecting to see the Starchild when she opened the door
still in make-up and costume. She was surprised to see him
already showered and changed. "How about a night off?" he
asked as he walked in the room.
"You sure?" she asked back confused.
"Yeah, I'm sure. You haven't had a night off since
before the tour started so go enjoy yourself." He said this
as he scooped up Evan out of his crib and held the baby
against him. She grabbed the baby's bag, made sure there
were enough supplies for the night, and ran down the
schedule for Paul. In a matter of a few minutes, they were
out the door. As she closed the door, the phone rang. "So
you're free tonight. Would you like to go for a drink?" It
was Peter. They made arrangements to meet at the bar on the
second floor of the lobby in 20 minutes. She hurried up and
changed into a nice outfit, freshened up her make-up and
hair, grabbed her room key and purse, and was out the door
in record time.
When she got to the bar, she found Peter in a booth in
the back. He smiled and waved when he saw her. "How did you
do it?" she asked after she ordered her drink.
	"Do what?" Peter asked innocently.
She laughed, "Get the night off for me?" She couldn't
help notice how sexy he looked when he smiled.
"That was easy," he explained, "I just pointed out to
Paul how hard you've been working and that I wanted to get
to know you better." She blushed and sipped her drink. They
sat there talking about different things for a while when a
couple of fans interrupted them to get Peter's autograph.
After he signed a few things, they politely left. Peter
reached across the table for her hand and started stroking
the back of it with his thumb. "It's a little crowded here.
Why don't we go back to my room," he said in a low voice.
She couldn't move. She felt very warm all of a sudden
and all she saw was the look of desire on his face. She
whispered, "Let's go."
When the doors of the elevator closed, Peter backed
her into a corner and trapped her there with his arms. She
could only stand there with her hands on his shoulders as
he leaned in close for a kiss. "I've been waiting to get
you alone for weeks," he whispered against her lips. His
kiss was like nothing she had ever experienced before. Long
and slow, as if he had all the time in the world.
"Are you two getting off here or would you like to be
alone?" They quickly broke and turned to see Doc McGhee,
standing at the open doors of the elevator.
"Yes to both questions," Peter laughed as he grabbed
her hand and led her from the elevator past the amused
manager.
Doc chuckled, "See you in the morning," as he walked
into the elevator and closed the doors. She didn't have
time to be embarrassed because they were almost to Peter's
room.
Once inside, they wasted little time continuing what
they started in the elevator. Their hands exploring each
others bodies, their mouths locked in a lasting kiss. As he
removed her clothes, his tongue traced hot trails all over
her body. She was almost frantic as she removed his
clothes, afraid she might tear something. Their passion
came to a climax and they laid in each others arms for the
rest of the night.
	A few months later-
"You are being so good for Uncle Peter. Sitting real
still." Peter sat back and admired his work. Sitting before
him was a miniature Starchild. "You know you look better
than your old man with that star," Peter commented as he
finished Evan's make-up. "After all these years watching
the guys put on their make-up, I never thought it come in
handy to know the different patterns."
"Thanks for doing this, honey. I could never keep my
hand steady enough," she said as looked at Evan. Paul went
to meet Pam at the airport and she wanted to surprise them
when they got back. Pam was going to come along for the
rest of the tour, but she would still stay on as Evan's
nanny to give Pam a break now and then. That was fine with
her and Peter. She looked at the ring on her left hand. She
still thought she was dreaming. Their love grew over the
past few months and last week he surprised her with a
marriage proposal and a huge ring. She gave him a quick
kiss and picked up Evan, "Let's go surprise Mommy and
Daddy." With that, Evan giggled and hugged her. As she
carried him out the door, she thought, "Life is definately
good."
